Tennessee Gas Pipeline Receives FERC Approval

Tennessee Gas Pipeline Company, L.L.C. a subsidiary of Kinder Morgan, Inc. today received approval for its producer certified gas (PCG), or responsibly sourced gas (RSG), aggregation pooling service from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC). The PCG aggregation pooling service is now available at all pooling points across the TGP system. PCG is conventional natural gas sourced from production facilities that have been certified by a qualified third party to meet certain environmental, social and governance standards that typically focus on management practices for methane emissions, water usage and community relations. The service is designed to enable shippers on TGP to purchase and sell PCG supply at non-physical pooling locations, ultimately serving end-users, utilities, power plants and LNG facilities connected to the TGP system. “After working closely with producers... > read more

Boskalis Expands Presence in the US

Boskalis, with a presence in the US market spanning more than forty years, has recently opened a new office to support the rapidly developing US offshore wind market along the east coast. The office, located in Providence, Rhode Island, will serve as the Boskalis renewables hub from which multiple project teams will be supported. On Thursday, 30 June, the office was officially opened during a ribbon cutting ceremony where Governor McKee of Rhode Island, President Fagan of RI Commerce, David Ortiz, the head of New England market affairs for Ørsted, and Michael Ausere, the Vice President of Business Development for Eversource Energy participated. Plains Announces Plans To Install

Plains Midstream Canada, a subsidiary of Plains All American announced plans to install a 5 MW/10 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) at the natural gas liquids fractionation and storage facility joint venture that Plains operates in Sarnia, Ont. The BESS is designed to reduce the facility’s power draw from Ontario’s electric grid during periods of peak power demand. “Reducing our power demand during peak hours will lower variable costs at our Sarnia facility and improve grid sustainability in Ontario while decreasing carbon emissions,” stated Dan Noack, Vice President Emerging Energy and Process Optimization. “Industrial-scale battery energy storage systems are a key element of supporting continued growth in renewables. The BESS is a capital-efficient project representing another step in aligning our operations with advancing technology and emerging energy opportunities.”... > read more

ExxonMobil Potential Hydrogen Production

ExxonMobil has signed a memorandum of understanding with three other companies to study the potential to produce and distribute green hydrogen and ammonia for marine fuels at the Slagen terminal in Norway. Marine innovation company Grieg Edge and fellow Norwegian companies North Ammonia and GreenH are teaming up with the US supermajor to evaluate potentially producing up to 20,000 tons of green hydrogen and 100,000 tons of green ammonia per annum. The hydrogen would be produced from hydro-powered electrolysis, given the terminal is powered by hydroelectricity. Dan Ammann, president of ExxonMobil Low Carbon Solutions, said: “Hydrogen has the potential to significantly reduce carbon dioxide emissions in key... > read more

Carboline Announces Launch

Carboline is pleased to announce the launch of Carboxane 2100 BR. Carboxane 2100 BR is a fungal-resistant, epoxy-modified, siloxane hybrid coating developed to inhibit fungal growth and provide great protection for the coated asset. Black fungal growth, or baudoinia, is often found in the presence of ethanol and alcohol vapors. The spores are difficult to eliminate and tend to grow back repeatedly, even after costly attempts at cleaning and removal. "Carboxane 2100 BR exhibits pronounced growth inhibition against a broad spectrum of bacteria and fungi. These attributes make it an ideal system for ethanol storage tanks and other structures subjected to ethanol vapors in the oil and gas industry," said Dwayne Meyer, EVP of Commercial and Technical Resources. "It is also a great choice for wineries, distilleries, breweries and other alcohol production facilities... > read more
