National Drilling Company signs contract

As part of the agreement, Schlumberger will provide support to the National Drilling Company in drilling three wells for the Remas Libya Company in the Nesr and Al Waha fields. The signing ceremony took place in the Ras Lanuf Hall and was also attended by the chairman of the National Drilling Company, Abdul Moula Abu Fayed, as well as members of the company's management committee, Sultan Abdulaziz and Mohammed Hussein, and the general manager of Schlumberger Libya, Mustafa Ajaj. SilverBow Resources announces acquisition

SilverBow Resources, Inc. have announced that it has entered into an agreement to acquire Chesapeake Energy Corporation’s oil and gas assets in South Texas for a purchase price of $700 million, comprised of a $650 million upfront cash payment due at closing and an additional $50 million deferred cash payment due 12 months post close, subject to customary adjustments. Chesapeake may also receive up to $50 million in additional contingent cash consideration based on future commodity prices. Hess electrifies Bakken Rigs

Hess Corporation has replaced diesel fuel with electricity to power its four Bakken drilling rigs – a project that over the next five years is expected to reduce the greenhouse gas emissions from these rigs by approximately 50 percent and energy costs from these rigs by nearly 70 percent. The change has also reduced truck traffic, noise and odors that result from delivery and use of diesel fuel. If electrical power is interrupted, backup diesel generators are immediately deployed to avoid drilling disruption.
