EPA honors five Marathon Petroleum refineries

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has recognised five Marathon Petroleum Corporation refineries as some of the most energy efficient facilities in the country. The refineries in Anacortes, Washington; Canton, Ohio; Garyville, Louisiana; Robinson, Illinois; and St. Paul Park, Minnesota, have received 2023 ENERGY STAR certifications from the EPA, placing them in the top 25 percent of similar facilities nationwide. The certification process for these refineries involves achieving energy efficiency that surpasses 75 percent of comparable facilities based on the Solomon Energy Intensity Index™ and maintaining a strong record of environmental compliance.
