CB&I awarded contract by Viva Energy for its Newport Terminal tank replacement project

CB&I, a wholly owned unrestricted subsidiary of McDermott, has been awarded a sizeable lump sum contract by Viva Energy for the engineering, procurement, and construction  of two 10ML diesel tanks and associated civil, structural, mechanical, and piping works for the diesel tank replacement project at the Newport Terminal in Melbourne, Australia.

Under the terms of the contract, CB&I will execute the complete diesel tank replacement, encompassing all necessary piping and civil infrastructure. The project will be managed from CB&I’s Brisbane office, with additional engineering and fabrication support provided by CB&I’s office in Thailand.

Mark Butts, senior vice president of CB&I, commented on the award: “CB&I continues to show its strength in the region with this latest project award. Construction activities for the project are set to commence in the third quarter of 2024, with completion targeted for late 2025.

*CB&I defines a sizeable contract as between USD $10 million and $50 million.
