Read Time: 2 mins

U.S. Gain, a prominent player in the renewable natural gas (RNG) industry, proudly announces the successful completion of a state-of-the-art onsite natural gas fueling station for Moreno Valley Unified School District. Situated in Moreno Valley, California, the district serves a vast community of over 34,000 students and 3,700 employees across a diverse array of educational facilities, garnering numerous accolades for its excellence in education.

Renowned for its fleet of natural gas school buses, Moreno Valley USD embarked on upgrading its existing fueling station to further support its commitment to sustainable transportation solutions. Through a strategic collaboration with U.S. Gain and funding from the Mobile Source Air Pollution Reduction Review Committee (MSRC), the district now boasts a new, efficient onsite fueling station equipped with three times the capacity of its predecessor.

The compact design of the station not only ensures minimal disruption to onsite traffic flow but also introduces a time-fill option that enables buses to refuel overnight, optimizing operational efficiency and saving valuable driver time. The significant time savings translate into approximately $1.00 per gallon in fuel savings, reinforcing the economic viability of the new system.

Scott Hanstedt, the director of business development for U.S. Gain, underscores the advantages of compact, modular fueling systems for applications like school districts, emphasizing the reliability and operational excellence upheld by U.S. Gain’s station operation and maintenance program.

Furthermore, Moreno Valley USD’s transition to RNG supplied by U.S. Gain underscores their commitment to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and promoting environmental sustainability. Bryan Nudelbacher, the director of RNG business development for U.S. Gain, expresses enthusiasm for supplying RNG to customers in Southern California, highlighting the positive impact on emission reductions and fuel savings. Leveraging the LCFS program, U.S. Gain continues to invest in RNG development projects to deliver clean fuel solutions to regions striving for improved air quality and sustainability.
