Texas Pacific Land Joins S&P 500

S&P Dow Jones Indices has announced changes to its indices effective before trading opened on Tuesday, 26 November 2024, following corporate actions and market capitalisation shifts:

  1. Texas Pacific Land Corp., currently part of the S&P MidCap 400, will replace Marathon Oil Corp. in the S&P 500. This move aligns with Texas Pacific Land’s market capitalisation, which is more representative of the large-cap market space. Marathon Oil is being removed due to its acquisition by ConocoPhillips.
  2. Mueller Industries Inc., presently listed on the S&P SmallCap 600, will replace Texas Pacific Land in the S&P MidCap 400, reflecting its suitability for the mid-cap market category.
  3. Atlas Energy Solutions Inc.  will join the S&P SmallCap 600, replacing Mueller Industries.
