New pipeline to be built at Stroud terminal for USD

Read Time: 1 min

US midstream company USD Partners is to build a new pipeline connection to a second 300,000 bbl storage tank at a neighbouring third-party facility at its Stroud terminal in Cushing, Oklahoma, US.

The increased connectivity will give the terminal better capability to serve multiple customers and multiple grades of crude oil simultaneously, so aiding incremental rail-to-pipeline shipments of crude oil to the Cushing Hub.

USD said it will complete the work in Q1 2022. The terminal covers a 76-acre site. It has two 70,000 bbl operational storage tanks onsite, one truck loading bay and a 17 mile (27.4 km) 12” pipeline connection to the Cushing Hub.

“As the only unit train facility connected by pipeline to the Cushing Hub, this additional connectivity enhances the strategic value and competitive advantages of our Stroud destination terminal as a rail-to-pipeline solution for our customers,” said Brad Sanders, executive vice president and chief commercial officer at USD.
