Hempel has been awarded a bronze medal in its 2025 EcoVadis assessment, achieving its highest rating to date and placing in the top 35 percent of all companies evaluated by the global sustainability rating platform. With a score of 63 points—an improvement of 10 points since 2024—the result reflects Hempel’s ongoing commitment to responsible and sustainable business practices.
EcoVadis is one of the world’s most widely recognised independent sustainability assessments, evaluating organisations across four key areas: environment, labour and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement. Hempel’s improved score validates the effectiveness of its sustainability strategy, embedded through its company-wide framework, Futureproof.

The company attributed the improved score to a number of key initiatives introduced over the past year. In 2024, Hempel implemented a global parental leave policy and a flexible work policy, highlighting its focus on social responsibility and employee wellbeing. The business also broadened its ESG reporting across critical areas such as waste, water, and energy, reinforcing its dedication to transparency and continuous improvement.
