Brazilian Duo Close to Petrobras Cluster Buy

Read Time: 1 min

Brazilian independents PetroReconcavo and Eneva are edging closer to buying a pool of Petrobras onshore fields with an offer reportedly worth $1.35 billion.

The duo has been formally invited by Petrobras to enter exclusive negotiations for the potential acquisition of the Bahia Terra cluster.

PetroReconcavo disclosed the information after local media publication Brazil Journal reported that the consortium has been declared by Petrobras the preferred bidder.

Earlier this year, Petrobras disqualified the $1.5 billion bid submitted by a consortium led by Brazilian company Aguila Energia for the assets in the mature Reconcavo and Tucano basins.

Now PetroReconcavo Eneva are the front-runners to purchase the Bahia Terra cluster, which encompasses 28 fields, as well as infrastructure including 19 collecting stations, 12 collecting points, two oil treatment stations, six collecting and compression stations and four water injection systems.

The 28 concession contracts combined are producing approximately 15,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day.
