American Welding & Gas, Inc. has recently announced the commissioning of its new state-of-the-art fill plant located at 400 Triport Road in Georgetown, Kentucky. The ribbon-cutting ceremony for this significant facility was presided over by Scott County Judge/Executive Joe Pat Covington and Georgetown Mayor Burney Jenkins on August 28, 2022.

The new Georgetown plant spans 20,000 square feet and is situated adjacent to AWG’s existing store and warehouse. This facility will produce industrial and medical gases for AWG’s customers across Ohio, Indiana, Missouri, Tennessee, West Virginia, and Kentucky. Utilizing advanced technology, the plant aims to enhance safety and efficiency in the production and packaging of compressed and cryogenic gases. Once fully operational, the facility is expected to employ approximately 45 team members.

AWG has expressed gratitude for the incentive benefits received from the Commonwealth of Kentucky for this project. In the press release announcing the commissioning, Governor Andy Beshear highlighted the importance of companies like AWG in contributing to Kentucky’s economic growth, stating, “Kentucky companies are continuously reinvesting in our communities and our workforce. Our historic economic momentum wouldn’t be possible without companies like American Welding & Gas buying into Kentucky and what we have to offer. I am happy to welcome this exciting next step for AWG and look forward to its continued success here in Georgetown.”

AWG’s CEO, Jason Krieger, emphasized the collaborative effort that went into building the facility. He expressed appreciation for the support received from various stakeholders, including Governor Beshear, Judge/Executive Covington, Mayor Jenkins, the Commonwealth of Kentucky’s Cabinet for Economic Development, general contractor Gray Ohio Valley, and gas equipment manufacturer Cryogenic Technology Resources. Krieger noted, “Working as a team, AWG, Gray, and CTR have completed this project on schedule and on budget. Our Georgetown facility will produce 50,000 compressed gas cylinders per month.”
