S&B appoints Jeff Sipes as CEO

S&B, a prominent engineering and construction firm specializing in the oil & gas and chemicals industries, has named Jeffrey G. Sipes as its chief executive officer, effective immediately. Mr. Sipes, who has been serving as S&B’s chief commercial officer since 2021, brings a wealth of experience and expertise to his new role.

The directors of S&B, J. D. Slaughter and J. W. “Brook” Brookshire, expressed their confidence in Mr. Sipes and his ability to lead the company towards continued success. They highlighted S&B’s impressive track record of growth over the past six decades and emphasized the changing markets, which present new opportunities for the firm. Mr. Sipes’ extensive knowledge of S&B’s markets and capabilities makes him the ideal leader to capitalize on these opportunities.

Mr. Sipes expressed his gratitude for the board’s trust and emphasized S&B’s strengths in various areas of the E&C market. He is confident that the company will not only continue to serve its existing clients but also expand its client base by leveraging its unique capabilities.

During his tenure at S&B, Mr. Sipes has played a pivotal role in overseeing the company’s business development and marketing activities. He has been instrumental in exploring new markets and geographies, as well as shaping the firm’s strategic planning. Under his leadership, S&B recently conducted a comprehensive strategy review, which has set the course for its future growth.

Prior to joining S&B, Mr. Sipes held key positions at Bechtel, where he served as Principal Vice President and Manager of Global Business Development. His responsibilities included strategic planning, cultivating customer relationships, and exploring new global markets. He also served on Bechtel’s Operating Committee. Mr. Sipes began his career at Chicago Bridge & Iron Company (CB&I) and has accumulated over 30 years of experience in project management, business development, and leadership roles across Latin America, the Middle East, and Asia. He holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Texas Tech University and has been recognized for his contributions by being elected to the Texas Tech Civil Engineering Academy in 2010.

In addition to the appointment of Mr. Sipes, J. D. Slaughter and J. W. “Brook” Brookshire will continue to serve as directors of S&B. They also announced the addition of Lori Brookshire Garrison and James G. “Jimmy” Slaughter Jr. to S&B’s board of directors, further strengthening the company’s leadership team.
