Natural gas company Énergir has announced that it has completed its 100th liquefied natural gas (LNG) milestone at the Port of Quebec.
The 100th bunkering operation was conducted during a refuelling job to five Desgagnés vessels, a Quebec shipowner who adopted the use of LNG as a marine fuel and fully participated in the implementation of bunkering systems, a source at the port stated.
LNG is a cleaner energy alternative to petroleum products and enables shipowners to comply with increasingly stringent standards for pollutant emission on waterways in North America and in controlled emission zones around the world.
